Oregon Rubber Mat

In August 2021, Heidi and David Emch purchased the family business from Heidi’s parents, Ed & Sheryl Johnson. As the third generation family owner Heidi was often found at the mat shop on non-school days and throughout summer months welcoming customers with baked cookies and lemonade while helping her parents.

As Ed and Sheryl approached retirement in 2019 it was decided it would be a good time to move the business closer to home after years of a long commute. With that move, they were within minutes of their daughter and her family and the opportunity fell into place from there as Heidi and her husband David, considered ownership and helping her parents move to their next chapter.

The Johnson family has a long line of small business owners, many of which have had great success in their respective careers. Oregon Rubber Mat places a huge importance on customer service and quality products. We enjoy the side of business that allows us to meet new people; as well as developing a relationship with long-standing, loyal customers.

David works a full-time job in healthcare; however, you will often find him on his days off or after work, helping at the mat shop. Our business is a family affair and all make certain that Heidi & David can still be present and active with their boys activities.
